The Kentucky Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is the state’s leading voice in advocating for the health and well being of all newborns, infants, children and adolescents in the Commonwealth. And, we believe that every child should have equal access to comprehensive healthcare, provided by a pediatric medical home team. To ensure that the children in Kentucky can have the opportunity to attain optimal health, safety and well-being, the Chapter creates a strategic plan every two years.
The strategic plan highlights the priority areas that the Chapter believes to be essential for supporting pediatric healthcare providers’ efforts to address the complex needs of the children and families for whom they care.
To advance the health and well-being of all children in Kentucky, the current focus areas include:
Strategic Priority: Providing member value while increasing current member engagement and outreach to new members.
Activities: Utilize surveys to gain feedback, Continue retention communication efforts, Modify Career Day Event Branding, Increase Kentucky Member Involvement on National Committees/Sections/Councils.
Strategic Priority: Improving messaging and enhancing delivery of communication.
Activities: Build and Launch new Chapter Website, Promote Task Force Activities, Utilize Story Board Format of Chapter Program Successes in Annual Meeting Update, Increase Collaboration Between Other State Medical Associations.
