ABOUT THE KENTUCKY CHAPTER OF THE AAP

 2004 Recipient of the AAP Chapter Award of Excellence

The mission of the Kentucky Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (KY Pediatric Society) is to improve the health and welfare of all infants, children and adolescents of the Commonwealth.  In addition, the KY Chapter of the AAP works on behalf of pediatricians and subspecialists, both those in practice and those in training, to ensure professional development and to facilitate the delivery of quality medical care to the children in the Commonwealth.

We are affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Chapter is dedicated to working with the national American Academy of Pediatrics to further their policies and objectives at the state and local level and is committed to working with medical organizations within Kentucky and state and local governmental organizations involved in all phases of child care

Primary activities include advocacy on behalf of children, families, and health professionals in Kentucky; provision of Continuing Medical Education for pediatricians and implementing improvements in the systems through which they deliver pediatric care.
